"If you like the Dropkick Murphys – think of the soundtrack for The Departed – you will love these guys. This is the stuff of heaven for lovers of Punk. Screamin’ loud, really fast, and – can I say it — energetic. Energetic as in someone with an old-school, steel-toed, work boot kicked a hole in the sky and allowed the other side of the universe to rush through."- Jeanie Straub, Colorado Music Buzz Magazine
Dying on the 66th day of hunger strike in 1981 for political status as a prisoner of war, Bobby Sands MP faught to free his native land and to raise awareness of "The Troubles" in The North of Ireland. Originally a side-project of "The Potcheen Folk Band", Christopher, Braden, Dave, and Andy decided to return to their acoustic folk rock roots and concentrate on the cultural and rebellious music of Ireland. They have played together since 2006 and have formed sixtysixdays as a way to inform the masses of Ireland's fight for freedom.
Played fast, loud and with lots of energy sixtysixdays' music reflects Irish culture both now, then and in the future. As founding members of The Potcheen Folk Band, and after touring nationwide and playing several hundred shows together, Christopher and Dave left that project to fulfill needs of getting back to their roots and local pubs. Joined by Braden Rouen and and Andy McQueen, respectively a former fiddle player and sound engineer of The Potcheen Folk Band the four have now been rocking the rebel style ever since.
"sixtysixdays" is Denver's musical voice of a free, unified Ireland, and are curently entertaining parties, pubs and venues'.
I was drinking at the Scruffy Murphy's here in Sydney the other day, and I thought to myself, "I bet those micks back home are playing at Scruffy Murphy's back in Denver right now." Then I realized it was about seven in the morning there, and you were most likely hungover or sleeping from playing at Scuffy's the night prior. Anyway, has Andy changed conditioners? If so, can you send me a hair sample?
Hey you guys, You should think of doing a gig/show up here at the old Irish/ cowboy pub called silver dollar. If you want I can show them your CD. Hope you all are doing good!!!
