SIZE2SHOES, the début album OUT NOW! Recorded & mixed by SmallTone (U2, R.E.M, The Corrs) featuring the cream of Irish musicians, SIZE2SHOES is a fresh, uplifting and airy album worth a listen. Join the mailing list for more information or BUY NOW!
Size2shoes are two brothers: Eoin, a 28 year old singer, songwriter and a Master of Peace Research who specialises in refugees in Ireland and Moley - a 24 year old singer/songwriter and Master of Ethnomusicology specialising in rap music in Ireland.
Size2shoes are the biggest upcoming act on the Irish acoustic music scene. Two brothers, from Limerick, that write songs under the shelf title of ‘Inspirational Pop’. Tunes that are about real stuff with some fresh lyrics, in a non-preachy way. Two voices and two guitars with a début album due for release in the coming weeks.
These boys are no strangers to the industry, their dad is a professor of music, piano player and composer, and their mother is a singer and a doctor of theology. One would be forgiven for thinking that these boys are nerds, but think again…they are actually pretty cool, (if we do say so ourselves). One thing is for sure, these boys can sing really well and the tunes really grow on you. At the live gigs these guys are really tight too and are unashamedly there simply to entertain. The old dog for the hard road… (they are looking for a manager!)
The tunes are all their own compositions and are, in terms of the Irish singer/songwriter scene, ‘fresh’. The shelf title is ‘acoustic inspirational pop music’. Get it into you!
About to release their début album six or seven years after starting to write together, one could say that they are ‘ready’ for the pressures of stardom, but you never know who is going to reach the top in this business. The two brothers have the second album already written and will be playing songs from it at their upcoming gigs.
They have no airs or graces about them and they both really entertain, though not in a packed superpub kind of way. The first album, the one you will be listening to, is clean acoustic and uplifting pop. It verges on cheese, but wins the listener over in the end, until the audience realises that they are on the ground floor of a really good band who have their heart in the right place.
Joined by some savage musicians on the album, the overall effect is that these brothers have their shit together but in reality its all a show and you will have to see them live to realise their true potential.
They have performed with Choice Music Prizewinner Julie Feeney, Eurovision dude Brian Kennedy, Classical violinist ultra dude Nigel Kennedy, and Hollywood actor Russell Crowe, who was a big fan of the two lads when they performed and jammed together.
This biog will be updated as soon as the two brothers Ó Suilleabhain actually achieve anything, but for now you are reading a biog of two cool dudes with some great songs and obvious talent the style of which is not really around at the moment in Ireland. They are unlike other singer songwriters, and thats a fact. Why? Thats up to you to say.
The best way for you to proceed from here is to listen to the tunes, buy the album, see them live, and spread the word.
How's she cuttin' boy, best of luck @ the Pav, pity it's a bit far from my door at this point! You know I'm based in Madrid, yea? Fiddling with various bands throughout Spain now really. Telesales didn't work out for me, I was humming too many tunes down the phone! Working on Galician piper, Anxo Lorenzo's new CD. It's going to be class man! The Amalgamare CD with Cyprian should be out next month too! Keep in touch, Hup! Eoghan.
