Ambient soundscapes, experimental world music, live improvisations, live looping
Dutch keyboardist and
sound designer Sjaak Overgaauw has been experimenting with
synthesizers and samplers since the late 80's. In the 90's, Sjaak has played
an active role in home studio projects as arranger and mixer for
artists in The Netherlands. The last 5 years Sjaak played keyboards for
several local pop/rock bands in Belgium and experimented with
Live Looping tools and techniques to create
Ambient textures and soundscapes.
Inspired by Ambient artists from
the international Live Looping community,
Sjaak is currently preparing for a series of solo performances in both
Europe and the USA. The kick-off will be the
European Live Looping Festival - Antwerp 2009 and organized by himself,
followed by the Y2K9 International Live
Looping Festival in Santa Cruz. Sjaak's live
improvisation music can be described as a mix of Ambient, Avant-Garde and World music.

I really enjoy Bansai Blues. I love the way the piano sound comes in so organically against the stasis of the original loop............it's a beautiful juxtaposition. Nice, nice, work, Sjaak
Bedankt voor de friendrequest. Heb je toegevoegd. Mooie space heb je. Kan alleen nu niet luisteren (te druk op werk) maar dat zal ik van de week eens doen. :-)
