About me:
What is Pagan Pride Day?
Pagan Pride Day (or PPD) is an annual event, held worldwide by local Pagan communities in an effort to promote and educate the non-Pagan community about Paganism. The idea comes from the national Pagan Pride Project, which held its first events in 1998. The primary purposes of the project is "[T]he advancement of religion and elimination of prejudice and discrimination based on religious beliefs."
Events are held worldwide... from California to the United Kingdom, and back! during a specific window of time centered around the Autumn Equinox. Key features of any PPD will be a main Harvest Ritual, a food drive, charitable collections, networking opportunities, workshops, information booths, music, demonstrations, and shopping!
Press releases are sent out and media coverage is sought and encouraged, in an effort to send our message further than the reaches of our event's circle.
What is a Pagan?
A Pagan, or Neo-Pagan, is someone who self-identifies as a Pagan, and whose spiritual or religious practice or beliefs fit into one or more of the following categories:
* Honoring, revering, or worshipping a Deity or Deities found in pre-Christian, classical, aboriginal, or tribal mythology; and/or
* Practicing religion or spirituality based upon shamanism, shamanic, or magickal practices; and/or
* Creating new religion based on past Pagan religions and/or futuristic views of society, community, and/or ecology;
* Focusing religious or spiritual attention primarily on the Divine Feminine; and/or
* Practicing religion that focuses on earth based spirituality.
