Welcome to ALASC's Myspace page!! We are the student chapter of the American Library Association at San Jose State University. We have a lot of stuff to offer our student body including, luminary lecture series, socials and other fun events, and we are your connection to the ALA. I hope you have some suggestions for us, and I hope we can continue to find ways to serve you better.

The SJSU ALASC is the proud recipient of the ALA Runner-up Chapter of the Year Award for 2001 and the ALA Chapter of the Year Award for 2000. ALASC was founded on May 17, 1994, and is the 42nd Official student chapter of the ALA.

Hello! I wanted to invite you and any friends to a fundraiser that we are having at California Pizza Kitchen located in Oakridge Mall. Inorder to participate all you have to do is go to CPK in Oakridge Mall and eat anytime today! And by doing so CPK will donate 20% of your bill to A Single Light to help build and maintain our Cancer Resource Database. Please mention that you are there to support A SIngle Light to your server or host so we can receive the donation. Or if you don't want to go or don't have time you can donate directly to us using pay pal on our myspace page or on our website at http://www.asinglelight.org. 100% of all donations go to ASL and its programs. Hello!

Just wanted to come by and thank you for all of the support over the past few months. There have been some major changes to our site that you might wanna check out at http://wwww.asinglelight.org. We have added a section to send out emails letting others know about A Single Light and how we help those affected with cancer at http://asinglelight.org/Mambo/content/view/55/69/ . We have also added a donations link using paypal. And we have a fundraiser coming up on 5/9/2007 that you are invited to if you can make it. Its at Armadillo Willies in Cupertino, California. (more information at our website under up coming events).

Yay! I now have a friend in my profile who isn't Tom! In one of my classes last semester, a fellow student gave us good advice on the E-Port. Take the competencies, put 'em in a word doc and then go through the most recent greensheets of the classes we've taken and match competencies to class numbers. I set up my preliminary document on my MySpace page. Feel free to copy and use however you need it. I'm not culminating until December 2007, but there's no time like the present.
