It all started after an outside punk show at a local park in the summer of 2003 that featured one Pennsylvania’s finest ska bands; No On 15. Seven kids met in Cameron’s basement and started to play cover songs. With the help of members of other local bands, Ska-Na-Na progressed into one of the areas top local bands. After having the opportunity of being placed on local tickets for shows, it was time for Ska-Na-Na to release original entertainment. Recorded at Poolhouse Records in St. Marys, PA, Ska-Na-Na released their self titled debut album. Since the release of their album, Ryan, tenor sax, has moved to Florida where he is in the military.
Ska-Na-Na has shared the stages and has already been featured with bands throughout the state. Some key bands include: Big D and the Kids Table, Digger, I Voted For Kodos, Long Shot Hero, Slightly Askew, Delay, and Rick Johnson and the Rock N Roll Machine (bass player of Mustard Plug.) They have made their presence know at different locations including clubs and venues in the St. Marys area, Erie, Warren, Dubois, Johnstown, and Coudersport, PA. They have been a featured band in Teen Tinnitus concert in Coudersport, PA. Also Ska-Na-Na was featured at the Genesee Dam Show. They have been heard both nationally and internationally. With songs played on the Ernie Balls live stream radio and the IUP college radio station, Ska-Na-Na has also been played in numerous provinces in Canada and in Great Britian.
The year marks the third anniversary of one of PA’s rising ska bands. It will also marked the release of their new demo entitled “Lamer Than You” recorded and mastered by Russ Regard of Kersey, PA. And they will be featured on Mushroom Cloud Record’s “Sorry If It Isn’t Cool Anymore.” With that, one of Ska-Na-Na’s main goals is to be able to rock out to their music and make known to their fans the appreciation of their support and the love of their music.
