Nick Welsh (Vocals/Bass) Nick was a member of The Selecter co-writing & producing 4 albums for the band and 2 CD's for the offshoot Selecter Acoustic.Nick has also played with,written & produced artists like Bad Manners, Busters Allstars, Prince Buster, Dave Barker, King Hammond, Laurel Aitken, Judge Dread, Rico Rodriguez ,Rhoda Dakar & 3 Men & Black alongside J.J. Burnel (The Stranglers), Jake Burns (Stiff little fingers),Bruce Foxton (The Jam) & Pauline Black (The Selecter). Other projects have included Big 5 a ska/punk hybrid with vocalist Jennie Matthias (Belle Stars)who released 3 CD's in the 90's, the hit single "This is Ska" with Longsy D & as a member of the 2-Tone collective alongside Roddy Radiation (The Specials) & Ranking Roger (The Beat).Nick writes music for T.V. ( Peep Show, The Osbournes, Malcolm in the Middle, Gay,Straight or Taken, Flog it!, LA Ink, Date My Mom, Desperate Housewives,Ugly Betty,Pimp My Ride), computer games (Smackdown versus Raw 2006, Day of Reckoning 2) and the big screen (Domino, The Magic Roundabout). In 2002 Nick won a Grammy award for his work on the Lee "Scratch" Perry album "Jamaican ET" he was also on Scratch's "Alien Starman" CD and was the MD on the live DVD "The Ultimate Alien". 2008 also saw the release of "The Soho sessions" a solo acoustic CD from Nick released on the Moon ska world label.Now in 2009 nick has started his own label N.1. Records.The first release is "Back to the garage" a 'Garage rock' album recorded with ex Bodysnatchers/Special AKA singer Rhoda Dakar.
Louis Alphonso (vocals/guitar) was The Original guitarist in Bad Manners (voted channel four's 1980's best selling band), co-wrote all the bands biggest hits including "Lip Up Fatty", "Special Brew", "Lorraine", "Walking in the Sunshine" and "Just a Feeling". As well as 12 hit singles Bad Manners also had 4 chart albums the debut "Ska 'n' B", "Loonie Tunes", "Gosh its!" and "Forging Ahead" Spending over 200 weeks in the UK chart.. He also appeared in the film "Dance Craze" alongside The Specials & Madness as well as countless memorable performances on shows like "Top of the pops" & "Tiswas".Louis left the band in the late 90's after producing the album "Heavy petting". He has also played with Lee "Scratch" Perry, Judge Dread and Mr "Double Barrel" Dave Barker on his "Kingston Affair" album.
In 2007 Skaville UK released their first CD "1973". on the Moon Ska World label.The next move was to go out on the road To promote the CD. The band spent the summer of 2007 gigging in clubs and on the festival circuit (with apperances at Beautiful Days, The Wickerman & Guilfest where THE SUN said that "Skaville UK were the best band of the day"). After this The band went back into the studio to record a follow up CD. "Decadent!".Once again the CD was released on Moon Ska World.The third Skaville album "Devil Beat" which the band recorded in a 10 day period in the summer will be released in August on N.1Records.In the summer the band played festival gigs including a brilliant return at Guilfest where Get Surrey's Colin Parker said...
