'skeeal' is a five-piece contemporary Celtic band based on the sunny isle of man, featuring flutes, guitar and vocals. drawing on traditional and original material, they shape imaginative and thoughtful arrangements, moving between the three gaelic languages.
we have been together for about five years, and have just released our second CD, "slipway", which we featured at festival interceltique de lorient 2009. our first CD, "long story" is a great introduction to the gaelic songs of Mannin and is on sale in shops and online at:
we're all manx gaelic speakers (to greater and lesser extents) and are particularly keen to hook up with musicians from other minority language cultures.
