I am a fifth year Ph.D. student at the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk! Jayhawk! Go KU!!). Besides working on my dissertation, I also teach Introduction to Fiction. I teach 20th Century Queer Multicultural fiction (Willa Cather, Gertrude Stein, Langston Hughes, James Baldwin, Leslie Feinberg, Achy Obejas, Randall Kenan...and a few others). It is a blast, but I hate the grading! My students are amazing and I love what I do.
Most of my life is centered around academia, but I do love Pop Culture and television. These may be my downfall. I'm also slightly addicted to a writing site called Panhistoria.com. When I'm not studying so much, I'm usually there (or just hanging out there behind the scenes as I read a book near the computer). It's a great time and I've met great people through it.
