Writer/Rapper/Producer, Skent Dukes has gained local success and is looking to pour an eclectic blend of music out of Cleveland meant to set the trends, and not follow them.

As a member of Sly Fam—alongside his brother, Stone—Dukes achieved local success with the release of their 1999 underground E.P. entitled “Thievery,” selling over 10,000 units in Ohio.

In 2002, Skent Dukes’ first solo venture “Get It Right” had the Cleveland streets buzzing, with over 9,500 copies sold right out of the trunk of his car! The album boasted 19 tracks, including “Swallow That” featuring Columbia recording artist Lil’ Flip. The standout single "Grind Right" landed at No. 25 on the Billboard magazine's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop singles chart and at No. 43 on the Hot 100 singles. According to Billboard, “Grind Right” sold approximately 25,000 copies, as indicated by Soundscan. For several weeks, Skent Dukes’ single "Grind Right" was the most purchased track locally, outselling national artists both inside and outside of his genre.

Dukes has opened up for national recording artists such as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Jay-Z, Scarface, Ludacris, and Fredro Starr, and the Big Tymers. In addition to his collaboration with Lil’ Flip, Skent Dukes has collaborated with Dogzilla and has a record with Mike Jones.

Currently gearing up for the release of his next solo album and jump-off single, Skent Dukes has an arsenal of lyrics and is ready to flex his rhyming muscles over some of his self-produced, blazing tracks, bottle them up, and dispense some Cleveland’s assorted flavor into the national hip-hop/rap market.
