First and foremost, I am a skeptic. Deepak Chopra be DAMNED!
For those not in the know, modern skepticism is a philosophical position. Skeptics champion the principles of critical thinking and scientific methodology in the examination of various claims about reality. Skeptics(and scientists in general) usually proceed from an axiomatic position of materialism.



I am also the former/original front man for I DEFY, a local rock and roll band which suffered my youthful ignorance & alcoholism, a drummer's(and a guitarist's) achingly bad lyrical submissions(and other terrible ideas/requests), ripping songs from said drummer's former band, drug abuse, in-fighting, and lineup changes that would make DRI say "Man...why did they even keep that name?!" and is somehow still around today.

    Tony, well said RE Rick Warren. As for Obama, I too, am not sure what he's going for here. I think there is a chance- a good chance, he knows exactly what he's doing.

    It could also be that I need to observe the "real" Obama in more situations and judgments and accept the possibility that he is potentially more of a compromise than I hoped for.

    That said, chances are good he won't come anywhere near the Bush/Cheney debacle. And that's worth a whole hell of a lot.
