   About Skerries Traditional Music
Friday opens with a concert at 8pm featuring Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh, some local talent and some of the well-known musicians in town as worshop tutors. This will be followed by sessions in 4 pubs from 10pm. Saturday sees workshops morning and afternoon in uilleann pipes, fiddle, whistle, flute, concertina, accordion, banjo/mandolin, guitar, singing and dancing. A choice on Saturday evening, a recital in a small church or an intimate evening of music and song in a cafe, followed by more sessions. Alternatively, join the set dancers for a fancy dress set competition and more dancing. Another recital Sunday at noon in the Mills complex and a Focus on Fingal in the afternoon 3-5pm. The weekend closes Sunday evening with the Skerries Ceili and Set Dancing Group's annual ceili. All welcome. For all details, see our website: www.skerriestraditionalmusic. Much as I'd love to have had a session with the Lennon's last week, it wasn't me!

The kind hearted girls of "The Spinning Jennys" will perform a gig in aid of SUAS (www. suas. ie) to help raise funds to send their good friend Suzanne Byrne out to India to help with educating the little kiddies !! So here's your bit - come to our gig, have a few pints, a bit of craic, a bit of dancing and you too will be helping the kiddies!!
