Who I'd like to meet:

Mountain Manager’s View

The view from the top of Blue Hills looks a lot different since last year. With a new management team at the Blue Hills Ski Area, all the views from the top of the mountain have been significantly improved, day and night.

A few minutes of reflection: the chairlift has been upgraded and restored; the beginner area has a new 300-foot Magic Carpet, the terrain park fanatics have their own rope tow, and the youngsters have their own Ski-Wee area with an 80’ Sun-Kid Carpet. The snowmakers were able to keep Big Blue, the Trail, the “Green Monster” and the Ski-Wee area, covered with a deep snow base the whole winter, a feat that the Blue Hills has not seen in a long time. The newly renovated lighting system is almost as bright as the future for Blue Hills.

We could sit up here for hours reflecting, but there are a lot more improvements to get done for this upcoming season. On the slopes we are increasing our snowmaking output by adding another snowmaking pump. We are giving the “Green Monster” it’s own snowmaking and lighting system. We are working feverishly with the DCR to install a tubing park on the side of the “Green Monster.” The Snow Sports has vastly improved on the programs from last year, and they are getting ready to offer some new programs to excite our younger crowds (and their mommies and daddies.)

Now that we know our extended families a little bit better, we have moved our ski school customer service counter to the rental barn. This will ensure that your time is spent on the hill enjoying your day with your families. The snow sports programs have been adjusted to give moms, dads, and the kiddies the time they need to be together (and apart.) And we haven’t forgotten to improve on the toughest part of Blue Hills; the parking. Nobody likes to carry all that stuff for more than 10 ft, so we have a new shuttle program, and better yet seasonal ski/snowboard rental programs. We will chauffer you to the base lodge and we have your equipment waiting for you,” that is what family is all about.

Our family has worked really hard to make this your winter fun spot, and we are still working to make it better. Come and be apart of the bright future for the Blue Hills Ski Area. We can’t wait to see you this winter, and if we are still sitting up here, just give us a nudge and let us know what we can do to make your visit even better.
