About me: Skiffytown is the fictional setting for the on line group known as Skiffytown League of Superheroes. This group was formed on the Sci Fi channels forums. It is comprised of individuals who auditioned for the second season of Who Wants To Be A Superhero or fans of the show.
After going to the life auditions, many members logged on and created accounts to keep updated on info from the try outs. What nobody expected was the amount of friendships that would be formed either at the live auditions or on the forums themselves. The main common factor was the audition experience itself and a love for the comic book and superhero genre. Over time, it was discovered that a wealth of talent existed in Skiffytown. There was a plethora of writers and artists. The gang decided to pool their creativity together and Skiffytown fan fiction and art was born showcasing the "superheroes" from the auditions.
Out of the main core of individuals on the forums, some got call backs, others made it to final auditions and a couple of the members actually acquired slots on the show including Stan Lee's newest Superhero Jarret "The Defuser" Crippen. They all shared the stories with creating their characters, the costumes and the general camaraderie which each other over the months leading up to the airing of WWTBASH season 2.
Now, out of those friendships, there have been several "Superhero Roundups". Jarret hosted one in Austin which several local and out of town "heroes" attended. There was another big roundup in Phoenix as well as a few smaller ones in Nashville, Indianapolis and Atlanta. Many more Roundups are being planned for the near future. They tend to be planned around various Conventions. but thats not mandatory. The main agenda is to get a chance to put on the costume and bring a smile to the faces of the kids and adults who marvel at them. Charity fundraisers are another past time for the group which holds to the ideals of many who volunteer their time on a regular basis. The nitty gritty is to have fun, make people smile and enjoy each other.
The smallest thing you say and the slightest gesture you make can have the greatest impact! It doesn't take a superhero to do that. But sometimes just doing it can make you a superhero to someone!
Who I'd like to meet: Just about everybody!
And of course, Stan Lee!

In total darkness even the smallest candle's flame can be a bright and guiding beacon. Each of us can be a candle in the darkness. Together, our flames illuminate the night with the brightness of the sun. Keep shining brightly my friends!
Your very welcome. And I just wanna thank you for everything. It was an honor to hang out with you and the rest of Skiffytown. I look foward to the future gatherings.
