The life long songwriter and singer is back with her beautifully produced 2nd album release, FOOLISH GIRL. Recently recognized by Billboard Music Awards, the UK Songwriting Awards and as a Producer’s Choice in the L.A. Music Awards, the Sydney, Australia-based artist introduces an appealing, new sound that fuses elements of jazz, blues, urban and nu-jazz. The result is strong and sophisticated! In the past, I have compared Skii to pop icons Annie Lennox and Tina Turner because of her sassy and confident stylings in her songs… I would say that this new outing only reinforces my opinion and in fact, I will add that FOOLISH GIRL is on par with the aforementioned divas. From the strong title track to the bright horns and rhythm of “Love Remembers” to the compelling passion of “One Cross” and “Choose,” Skii is remarkable and an inspiration to womankind worldwide. Skii Harvey has been a life long singer/songwriter. Her memories are of huddling over an old upright piano squeezed into her mother’s small semi in Redfern where their tiny porch had been converted into a makeshift bedroom. Like many artists she worked a couple of jobs by day and the gig circuit by night. It is an existence sustained only by passion and the love of music.
Her voice has stopped the likes of Sting and Ricky May in their tracks but it is her song writing that she holds most dear. Her song writing has also raised many an eyebrow as she has recently been recognised by the Billboard music awards, the UK songwriting awards and as a producer’s choice in the LA music awards. However, Skii will tell you that she writes because she has to write. She believes the music is a gift that comes through her and not from her and to complete a piece of music is to reach pure happiness. She describes her music as story telling. They are stories of what she knows and what she dreams.
Today she has taken a hiatus from the stage and has been busy in the studio. Her second album “foolish girl” is a true journey, a journey in music and the story of a journey in life. The title is named after one of her tracks. It refers to how when you look back and see the roads you could have taken or when you find yourself stepping onto the wrong path, you are immediately exposed for the girl that you are inside. However, Skii describes those steps, the wrong ones, that although foolish are the stepping stones to the woman she has become.

I don't know anyone that would admit that they would want to be a slave to anyone. Most people will use you real good when they know they have you tied up emotionally. But the wonderful thing about REAL LOVE. That kind of love doesn't dominate or mistreats anyone knowingly. Love will stick with you when you're down, and Love will give all it has to make and keep a friend happy!.

Hello my friend, (A responce to a comment I received this morning, I would like to share my responce with you). Hello Deborah, Nice hearing from you. You said something interesting this morning about forgiveness....You posted..... some realities are sinking in.You know,i dawn on us today that when a person reap what they sow,it comes rather hard.!Well,I'm having one of those days too.!Thee important thing is to forgive thyself. To forgive is divine,to error is human,smile.! Gerry's responce.....My friend, knowledge and understanding is never gotten without mistakes in life, thats just natural and a sane way to learn anything. Example, If you play baseball and you don't practice holding your glove correctly, the base ball in most cases will hit you in the face and bloody your nose. Now do you forgive yourself for that? (LOL). I don't think so...with all do respect. We must all continue to practice holding our glove correctly and maybe the next time we want be punished for doing something we've learned over time want work towards any good (Smile). Forgiveness in my view is when you've perfected holding your glove correctly . " until we do, nothing will change". And it's nothing funny about learning the hard way!.
