Started out pickin on a 6 string with Barney "Tall" samuelson as a teenager, then started playin bass with Jerry Lightsey, under the instruction of hid dad. toured for Billy Wimberley for a while in the late 50's, and also with Charlie Walker. during this time, i backed George Jones, The Louvin Brothers, and multiple other local and non local acts. married my wife in 1960, and had our first kid, in '61. started playing with aubrey louden around central texas throughout the 60's. while during the day i was managing my excavation company. ended up with 3 more kids, cliff in '64, cindy in '66, and laurie in '69. backed freddy fender at the rodeo in '75. i met the great Donnie Walser in The early 1980's, and played and toured with him every week until he retired around '02 or '03. I have been able to back some great singers, like Johnny rodriguez, Johnny Bush, The Derailers, Dale Watson,Jason Roberts, Glenn Collins, Clay Harrell, Chip Sneed, Waylon Payne, Robert Duvall, Lost John Casner, Tony maserati, and many others. i now am a member of the jimmy sims trio, and the Bobby Lueders band. check both of they're myspace pages for dates. I have been blessed in life, i have a wife of 48 years, 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and many good friends! come out and hear us pick! and support live music.
