Skintight first started back in July 2006 when Paul Haywood (sax & lead vocal) and Bryan Ugalde (drums) got together after a Maceo Parker gig. Being both influenced by similar music, they decided to get a band together and write music that was predominantly groove based and after managing to get renowned bassist Scott Coleman onboard the writing began and the search for like minded musicians began....................................................
Over the past three years the bands line up has changed but with the trio of Paul, Bryan and Scott continuing to write and record new tracks they have now got a permanent line up with Chris Burton on Keys and Chris Johnson on Guitar. To date Skintight has built up a reputation for writing and performing some truly amazing funk tunes that grip their audiences and fill them full of the same stuff that fuels this band. Tracks such as Ain’t got no change left, My way and the anthemic Rip the Tower have been getting rave reviews and form part of a long awaited LP............................................................
Skintight are looking forward to finishing off their first album, writing more great tunes and developing the band in their studios but most importantly they are getting out there and doing what they do best. Future events in the bands diary are festival appearances, radio coverage and the various regular venues throughout the South West region..................................................
