Heroes
Tread the past and marvel at the technology from 1989 at WVVS Valdosta! Music by Valdosta's own - The Initials - it's called Saddle Sore.
LIVE music to celebrate Mayhem '89 at Valdosta State. Bands: Plaid Astronauts, The Whompus Cats, Double Barrel Sling Shot and The Clinic. Unfortunately it is all covers......eating contest included!!!Yummmm! Would love to see footage from the MTV video shoot that Third Coast recording artist Dog Soldier from Detroit did later that afternoon.....
About me: Longtime College Radio Personality. Eminating from Valdosta State University's station, WVVS 90.9FM. The station has been in existence for over 30 years. I have been a part of this sonic architecture for 15 of those years. As a student and now staff at VSU. Lest We Forget celebrates college radio's past. Especially the golden years when college radio and the music involved actually made commercial radio take notice in the middle to late eighties. If a group has fallen between the cracks, I sweep them up to give them life again. I also have fun during October, making it Spoooky Music month. The Spoooky music wraps with a 3 hour show featuring the greatest Halloween party band ever....OINGO BOINGO!(The 10th anniversary show was Oct. 28, 2007)
Play the past for those that were there, and turn on the young to new sounds that they may have heard in the womb. Where did Green Day gets its sound? Maybe from the Jam? At least The Jam sang in english accents because they were English! If you are in the listening area on Sunday night, feel free to call in a request. 229-333-5661

THE RETURN OF THE BAT
Specimen will bring their special brand of glam mayhem, The Batcave to London again.
After last year’s wildly-successful 25th anniversary Batcave event, The Batcave returns to its original spawning ground of London’s West End on Sunday July 19 for another night of blasphemy, lechery and blood.
Specimen (Fresh from a fantastic show at Leipzig’s Waves Gotik festival), the original Batcave instigators will headline the lurid frolics at the Embassy Club, (29 Old Burlington St, London W1S3AP) Also on the bill are original Batcavers Sexbeat, with DJs Hamish and Cavey Nick, cavorting from decks to decadence with the usual brutal, trouser-dropping surprises & suitably confronting & barbaric entertainment.
The 2009 Batcave will feature installations from exciting new artists of the ‘Dark London Underground’ and visuals from the upcoming ‘Welco
