Influenced by the sounds of reggae, ska, hip-hop, and punk rock, SKITN has been described as" California beach reggae-punk stranded in Arizona". This five-piece band consisting of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and auxiliary percussion hails from Tucson and has been making an impact on the local music scene for the past seven years. Fronted by Earl Rosales and his soulful energetic lyrics, he is backed by Chris Calvo (lead guitar/vox), Scott Hilkemeyer (bass), Fernando Hinojosa (keyboards) and Kelly Velasquez (drums). These laid back performers are taking on the music scene at full force.
SKITN has played with national acts such as Steel Pulse, Pepper, Long Beach Shortbus, Slightly Stoopid, Pato Banton, Half Pint, The Aggrolites, Plain White T's, and Authority Zero. They have also played with many local bands in their never-ending tour of Arizona. They continue to play a variety of local shows allowing them to form a strong local following. With their recent success in the local venues and their unique reggae/ska/island/hip-hop sound, SKITN is taking their music to new heights. They just released their self titled album which is available through Tortuga Records and iTunes. SKITN is currently in the process of putting together more shows in T-Town as well as all over the West coast.
