Volunteer's Needed

What are the requirements for volunteering?
The minimum age to volunteer for this event is 18. Volunteers must live in the surrounding community.

How long are the shifts?
A typical shift is around 4 hours. However, shift times will vary depending on level of difficulty (constant standing vs. sitting), location of activity (outside of festival grounds & away from music vs. within hearing distance/view of stage) and type of activity (recycling vs. box office).

What are the rewards for volunteering?
Beyond the satisfaction of being part of this amazing community event, receiving the sincere gratitude of the festival organizers, spending time with a bunch of fun people, and making new friends, volunteering gets you in to the festival on the day that you work…plus a limited edition Skook-A-Palooza volunteer t-shirt!

Who I'd like to meet:

Skook-A-Palooza started out as a day of celebration remembering the life of our friend and brother. The original event was to last one day and have about 8 bands playing, well, it ballooned into a 3 day event with over 30 bands now participating. There will be live entertainment, camping, good food, games, beer, prizes, and contests for everyone to enjoy. There will be over 150 vendors as well as local artisans so there will be something for everyone.

The 2008 event is scheduled to be held June 27, 28, & 29 at the Schuylkill County Fairgrounds.

The types of bands that you will hear will range from rock, pop, classic rock, folk, country, to Christian. We are open to any and all kinds of music as long as it is family oriented and appropriate for all ages!

Friday, June 27
Festival begins when vendors begin to arrive at noon. First band goes on at 5:00 pm and then every hour! At 7pm a Memorial service will begin in honor of a lost friend. Then the bands return!

Saturday, June 28
Main gates open to the public at 9am. Food, drinks, beer, games, and prizes will be available to all in attendance.

Sunday, June 29
After a non-denominational worship service (with live music) for campers and anyone else who wishes to attend at 10am, bands will begin performing at 11am and continue until MIDNIGHT. Games food and prizes will be available all day.

Monday, June 30
Clean Up Day

How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults.
Keep me from deliberate sins! Don't let them control me.

Now, all glory to God, who is able to keep you from stumbling, and who will bring you into his glorious presence innocent of sin and with great joy.
