HEADGARDENER

Excellent, ecclectic radioshow, available as a podcast. I've been downloading it, burning a CD and playing it in the car. Great way to find new sounds.

ANIKA'S BLOG

She is at most gigs that i go to. She goes to 5 gigs a week, truely hardcore! I've found quite a few artists from her reviews and photography exploits, and youtube links. Excellent live photographer.

TSURURADIO

Excellent podcasts. Streaming and download...A vinyl theme is present, which is quite ironic as we stream it digitally?

I write dark acoustic songs with an ambient edge bridging the territories of Joni Mitchell, dead can dance, Brendan Perry and Eno.

I have spent the last 4 years in bed with M.E. doing a Brian Wilson impression, but without the drugs, money or kudos. I am just beginning to start recording music again, and have just performed my first London gig in 5 years due to my M.E.

The truth about what happened behind the scene of Channel 4s mobile unsigned music program which aired recently. How Jo Whiley and Polydor forced the bands to sign unfair contracts, and what happended to the band that stood their ground. This is an article by Envy and other sins, who won the competition.

I always thought that Jo Whiley was the anti-christ for playing such joys as Scouting for girls, but this shows her in a new light. Kind of musical taste of a 60 year old grandmother of 5, living of benifits in crewe has always been apparent, but to be a part of such insidious skulduggery is totally unacceptable
Envy and Other Sins article in Drowned in sound

Peter Ulrichs article about how badly we are being served by HMV and other music retailers. Some very thought provoking ideas, and also his own correspondence and experiences getting his album, reviewed and stocked by HMV

DIS Article about music marketing
Ever wondered why some artists get tipped for the top in 2009 bright new things? How does the music hype machine really work?

Artist house music is the most amazing music website i have come across. From self promotion, to recording to agents, to lawyers, to copyright. Totally comprehensive and free. Hundreds of video clips from established artists and industry insiders. It is simply a free education of the music industry. I wish i had found this site when i was 16... Well they didn't have internet then, but you get my point... This site is vital if you do music in any capacity
ARTIST HOUSE MUSIC

The truth about loading your songs onto I-Tunes and other aggregaters. Interesting article by journalist Rhodri Marsden, who recorded a song and made a video as part of an article for a newspaper. He ended up being most played video on you tube. Guess how many downloads he sold
Rhodri Marsden (Bit of a plum but interesing read)

George Howard discusses the music industry and the futrure of downloads, how to get signed, touring and building a fanbase, Free video lectures from artisthousemusic.org. An absolute must for all aspirng musicians. George Howard just strips away the garbage and revelas the truth about the industry. AMAZING

This is an amazing article by steve albini written for negativeland, giving the truth about actually getting signed, including a fictional financial breakdowm. It is quite shocking, but if you want to be in the music industry you should all read it

Combine the sperm of Thom Yorke and Leonard Cohen. Shake well. Inseminate Joni Mitchell and raise the child in a Brothel. You'll then have something that sounds like SKOPJE!!!!!!...........Currently recording my album, Due 2012. And like all great British monuments will be fashionably late

Dear friends, I am playing a free gig at the beauteous Union Chapel, Islington this Saturday. The sunlight will be streaming through its vaulted windows as Blank Canvas and Arctic Circle present this gig during the blessed daylight hours of 12-2. And yea shall its hallowed interior be filled with all manner of scraping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. Let us pray. And then let us go to the pub.
