SKULLCLAMP BIO ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………SKULLCLAMP was created in the beginning of 2008, as a four piece band with members, Dan Evans (guitar), Amy Evans (bass), Jim Gateson (vocals), and Brian Graham (drums). The foundation of the band started back in 2002 when Dan and Amy began playing together. In 2004, Dan and Amy met Jim when a friend brought him by their home for a poker game. Jim would always stick around after the games to listen to Dan’s songs. Jim also liked to write riffs and then let Dan mess around with them. Around 2005, Amy started working on a side project with a band called Drop (myspace.com/dropny). By the summer of 2007 though, Dan and Amy were working together again. Although Jim was a great asset on the guitar, he wanted to join us as the front man. Dan took riffs from both Amy and Jim and combined them with his own to create Skullclamp’s unique sound. At this point a new band started to take form, but they still needed a drummer. Brian, a co-worker of Jim’s, played the drums for a band called The Dstroiz (myspace.com/thedstroiz). Jim brought Brian around to Dan and Amy’s house to listen to them play. Brian liked the songs and around December 2007 the four started practicing together at the A-room in Hicksville. Brian began writing the drum parts, Jim started to add vocals, and all four together began to work on the arrangement within the songs. They all agreed on the band name SKULLCLAMP after changing names a few times. Currently, SKULLCLAMP is playing shows and are recording a full length CD. There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
