Welcome to my profile.
A bit about myself… I’ve always enjoyed taking pictures. My first camera was an old 1930’s Kodak Brownie box camera, which I got when I was five. As the son of an archaeologist, I developed a fondness for the old and sometimes forgotten corners of the world. I can normally be found happily snapping away in aging cemeteries in the Central Ohio area.
Over the years I have refined my technique through trail-and-error vs. formal education. I’ve never been one for "normal" mainstream photography. I'm a great fan of the works of photographer Simon Marsden (www.marsdenarchive.com). Although I would list Marsden as an influence, I have a style that is all of my own. I am always interested in how shadow, texture, and perspective can be used to make an image more interesting. I shoot what I like, and make no apologies about it. Over the last few years I’ve been blessed to find that there are a lot of like minded individuals out there that enjoy what I do.
I just recently made the foray into adding models as an element in my photography. I had been on the fence for a while, but have now taken an active interest in it and enjoy the expanded creativity that it brings. Regardless of whether the model is the focus or just an element in the photo, my overall intention is to create a lasting image that will invoke a thought or a mood. That being said, I'm not interested in doing glamour shots or anything of the like. There are some very fine photographers out there that do it well and enjoy it... Go to them if this is what you are after.
Thanks for visiting my page,
