Born deep in the mountains of Rock and Roll on August 1, 1998, Skulltoboggan immediately began its descent upon the masses to unleash its furious mixture of hard rock, hardcore, metal, punk, stoner rock and surfer rock. Founding members Craig Steven "G*Spawt" Gaumond (Lead Vocals & formerly of Belisama, The Revenge Factor, etc...) and Robert "Skullbob" Eurenius (Guitar, Backing Vocals & formerly of Dogleg) had a mission, and that was to deliver a brand of music that would be fresh, furious and unforgettable. Dirtnap Entertainment Recordings ( http://www.myspace.com/dirtnapentertainmentrecordings ) made this discovery and Skulltoboggan was the first act signed to its newly formed label. Once signed to this independent record deal in 2000, music fans everywhere began to take notice of Skulltoboggan. Dubbed by a loyal "Sledhed" as "Alcoporngroovecore" this eclectic collection of musicians, in various forms, have been assaulting venues and airwaves with regularity and show no signs of slowing down anytime in the near future. Skulltoboggan has earned their reputation as one of the hardest working bands in the business.
Joining "G*Spawt" is Eric "E-Dawg" Corbett (formerly of Whiskey Down, Wild Vein, etc...) on Bass Guitar and Backing Vocals. "E-Dawg" who has been a constant with Skulltoboggan since 2000 is the utility man of the bunch playing in both his current position and spending three years on the throne as well. In addition, "E-Dawg" also creates much of the artwork that appears on Skulltoboggan CD's, merchandise and promotional items.
The year 2008 delivered a new look to the Skulltoboggan lineup. First, once "E-Dawg" vacated the position of Drums, Rob "Dexx" Dexter (formerly of Vocalpoint) earned that same position after a very successful audition process in which he beat out several excellent candidates. "Dexx" brings an adventurous and inventive style that allows the band to expand into new regions. Paired with "E-Dawg", this lethal combination truly provides "The Bottom Heavy Groove That Makes Your Ass Move".
The next change was the replacement of original guitarist "Skullbob" with that of Tommy "T-Bone" Ward on Guitar and Backing Vocals. "T-Bone" formerly of Bent Ethics, NE Hostility, Vocalpoint, not only brings additional experience into the fold, but also brings a style of play that adds a big and punchy sound to the Skulltoboggan experience.
And finally, on Lead Guitar is Jefferson "O-Ring" Bourguignon formerly of Haiden, The Hate Proposal. "O-Ring" who lays down some of the nastiest leads in the business returned to the lineup in 2008 to complete this stellar cast.
And there you have it! Undoubtedly, the most dangerous collection of madmen ever assembled in the toboggan. You have been warned!
