"Here, on their debut, and amid some searing riffs and catchy choruses, is innovative songwriting and more ideas than most bands manage in a lifetime. Razor sharp and blitzkrieg quick one minute, calm and expansive the next, they have the craft to change musical direction in a heartbeat without it ever sounding awkward." Mark Griffiths, Kerrang! Magazine (2006).
“With the dark malevolent-pop-intensity of Therapy? Fused with the driving riff-a-lama stomp of Reuben at their furious best whilst the Misfits piss on all their parties, S.K.W.A.D possess a startling sound that equally revels in a low frequency throbbing groove and the explosive energy usually reserved for people whov’e been pumped full of Ginger Beer thats been shaken a few too many times.”
Jeremy Chick, Editor In Chief (2006)
The band evolved from ‘PsychoSquad’ who’s plaudits include a tour with Motorhead and an appearance at Reading Festival. Since then S.K.W.A.D. has supported a host of bands such as The Damned, Lift To Experience, Defenestration, Anthrax, Backyard Babies, Mondo Generator, Fozzy and Zebrahead.
The band consist of brothers Todd (Ex-PsychoSquad) and Dane Campbell (SaidMike), Mike Cocks (Ex-PsychoSquad). Debut album ‘The Dead Still Dance’ (2006) was highly rated in various publications such as Kerrang! often compared to bands such as Reuben and Therapy? Helmut, and Filter. The new self-produced 6 track mini album ‘Big Mono’ hits the stores on 2nd April.
