I love flying, riding my Harley. I also love doing mechanical things like working on cars and airplanes. I enjoy traveling, though because I am always playing with Brazilbilly, I am pretty much obligated to be in Nashville every weekend. Hey, it's a great job but somebody has to do it!
Music
I like all types of music, but I LOVE that good old Honky Tonkin' music. Carl Smith is my favorite but anything done by a Hank, Carl, Faron, Marty, Mel, Conway, Webb, Ernest, etc. is Honky Tonk-O-riffic.
Movies
I've seen most of them.
Television
I have one, so?
Books
I have lots of them...they are doing a great job holding up all the other books I have.
About me: Howdy, I have been called a "Musician turned lawyer, turned hillbilly musician", but you can call me David, or call me "damn you" or whatever you like! :) I used to practice law in Mt. Vernon Indiana, until I saw the error of my ways and stopped that. Now I play music in Nashville, Tennessee...that's right, one less attorney in the world, and one more musician on lower broadway. I gave up my law practice and sold my building, plastic flowers and pencils, never looking back. Now I'm playing every Thursday Friday and Saturday in the "Number one Honky Tonk in Nashville, Tennessee" --that would be Robert's Western World-- in case you didn't read the October 12th 2006 edition of Scene magazine. Thursdays I perform in my own band: David Tanner and the Honky Tonk-O-Rama. Friday and Saturday I play with the legendary Brazilbilly, OK, so we're not exactly legendary but it has a better ring than "The regionally popular Brazilbilly!
I grew up in a musical family. As long as I can remember.... "We be jammin'". At Christmas and Thanksgiving there was always some kind of singing and playing going on. My mom used to sing songs to me when I was a kid. Good ole Mama, she made some songs up and some were good old folk songs, like the one about hanging some guy named Tom Dooly and the one about a baby falling out of a tree top. She also like to say "Shut up and drink your whiskey." Hmmm no wonder I turned out a little ....uh, different. My home town is New Harmony Indiana. It is a historic town famous for an experiment in utopian living, it was a communal society founded by Robert Dale Owen. I am a direct descendant of Robert Owen for those of you who are interested that sort of thing. I still have a house and a farm up in Indiana and travel back and forth each week. It's pretty good situation really. Just about the time I get tired of one place, I can road trip to the other. I fly about half the time. I am a pilot and have my own airplane so it takes about 45 minutes to get from my house to the John C. Tune airport in Nashville Tennessee. I have a little place rented here in West Nashville. It's not the Ritz, but it is cheap and I have a great back yard that overlooks Nashville.
Be sure to come by Robert's to have a burger and hear Brazilbilly play. Fri-Sat 10:30pm-2:00 am See ya.

Nice profile! Though, those pictures of yall on Halloween dressed as women are going to haunt my dreams for years to come. I have to say ive never seen a group of men look that bad in drag in my life. LOL!
The Lord is my drummer, I shall not rush, He maketh me to layout in tasteful places, He leadeth me beside cool meter changes, He restoreth my "one."
Yeah, man, though I read through the trickiest of charts, I will fear no train wrecks, For you are with it. Your ride and your snare they comfort me, You setteth up a solo for me In the presence of mine guitarists, You anointeth my lines with drive, My groove overfloweth.
Surely good feel and swing will follow me through all the tunes of each set, And I will dwell in the pocket the whole gig long.
IM LISTENING TO YOUR C.D. THINKING BOUT YOU.... THINKING ABOUT WHEN YOU HAD AN UNDERWATER FLASHLIGHT...HAHAH I HOPE YOUR TAKING GOOD CARE OF MY GUITAR... HHAH I KNOW YOU ARE....OOOOOOOPLAY IT D.O.T.
