  • Bio

Founded in June 2009, Sky Came Burning is the premier 5 piece metalcore band fresh out of Baltimore. They're looking to change the industry by bringing classic rock/metal roots mixed with today's heavy/metalcore style to give you a very unique sound and performance. Sky Came Burning has not only developed a loyal local following but has supported such national acts as Beneath the Sky, Nonpoint, Almost Kings, Wretched, Havok, Uncrowned, and In Dying Arms. Sky Came Burning has worked with Drew Mazurek on two releases "On Your Face" and "The Opposition." Sky Came Burning's second EP "The Opposition" was released in January 2011. Their cd release show at the Recher Theatre in Baltimore was reviewed by Shockwave Magazine. "On Your Face" was also reviewed by Shockwave Magazine. "The Opposition" was reviewed by Fans 4 Bands. Sky Came Burning was the "Band of the Week" on Holographic Universe Productions' website during February 2011. They played at 98 Rock's Noise in the Basement and were featured on 98 Rock radio (Baltimore). They were also featured on Eyes Sewn Shut radio. Sky Came Burning is on the 2011 Atrocity compilation cd and the 2011 "In Your Face: volume 2" compilation cd. They placed in the top 15 bands for 2010's Vans Warped Tour Battle of the Bands and plan on making the top 5 in 2011. With two vocalists, Sky Came Burning's frontmen Chris and David hit you twice. Their lyrics are all about coming from nothing, wanting more, and rising above. While they write positive lyrics about accepting what you have and telling people what they're about, they are still brutal as they tell you "Don't try to change us." Randall brings in his expressive drums. As the main writers Randall and guitar player Jeff are not looking to write the metal that they have to. They want to stand out in doing something unorthodox. But Jeff won't let you down with his melodic solos. Jeremy on bass brings in the foundation. He's the one in the pocket giving Sky Came Burning their groovy heavy sound. Sky Came Burning has hit the scene hard and looks to continue the onslaught of Baltimore's greatest venues. They are currently promoting their latest release and are planning a summer tour of the northeast. Sky Came Burning will be recording a new album to be released in October 2011.

ABOUT US

In a hugely divided scene full of cliché’s and clicks, out emerges Sky Came Burning. A breath of fresh air when it comes to staying true to your roots, Sky Came Burning prides themselves on not wanting to live every other band's dreams. Keeping their label short and sweet... Metal. With two vocalists, Sky Came Burning’s front men Chris and David hit you twice. Their lyrics are all about coming from nothing, wanting more, and rising above. While they write positive lyrics about accepting what you have and telling people what they’re about, they are still brutal as they tell you “Don’t try to change us.” Since their conception in June of 2009, they've relentless taken over the Baltimore metal scene and aim to branch out as far as their legs will take them. Immediately getting out a 5 song EP after forming, they went to as many shows as they could, handing the disc out to anyone that would accept it. After word got around, more and more people started showing up at their shows until they had a loyal following no matter what part of Maryland they played. In 2011, they hit the studio again with Drew Mazurek and came out with another EP entitled 'The Opposition'. Receiving good reviews from the likes of Shockwave Magazine, LMP Magazine, and more; they started catching club owner’s attention going on to play with national headliners such as Beneath the Sky, Nonpoint, Wretched, Uncrowned, Almost Kings, and many others. They then were handpicked by real judges to play the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, VA where they shared the stage with such juggernauts as Sevendust, Bullet for my Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Escape the Fate, Seether, and Three Days Grace. Getting a taste of the famed ernie ball musicman stage has only made their drive and hunger more insatiable. 2012 is gearing up to be one of their most successful years yet, with the promise of a new album early on, and extensive touring on their schedule. Sky Came Burning doesn't look to be stopping anytime in the near future.
