“This is beautiful, various and very exotic!” - Rayl Patzak, Spex Magazine (Germany)
I just sat down and strapped myself in for the ride as Ghostboy with Golden Virtues took the spoken word, twisted it, whispered it, made it roar and whimper, teased and caressed it in a wonderful performance of a fearless love for language.” - The Sunday Mail
“This year, Brisbane Cabaret Festival has brought in some stunning live acts, and Ghostboy with Golden Virtues is no exception. The Judith Wright Centre is transformed into a saucy cabaret venue where saucy girls play guitars and the lead singer can rub his face in the laps of unsuspecting audience members.” - Time Off Magazine
THE GBGV EXPERIENCE....
A heady mix of romanticism, sonic narrative and erotic ‘duende’, Ghostboy with Golden Virtues are avant-garde art brutes!
In a dimly lit dressing room many blue moons ago, an (un)holy backstage birthing ritual took place involving a French kiss and a German backpacker. The result was the emergence of a bizarre and beautiful spoken weird musical cabaret: Ghostboy with Golden Virtues.

A ménage a trios comprising an eclectic live band, two untamed chanteuses and one of the world's finest spoken weird artists, GBGV strip the bed of mainstream music and theatre.

Infamous for their exploding live shows they have (dis)graced stages at The Woodford Folk Festival; The Tivoli; The Zoo; QLD Poetry Festival and The Brisbane Cabaret Festival, while occasionally disturbing the airwaves of JJJ, RRR and ZZZ.
Never for the faint hearted, these underground creatures seduce audiences into a world of Berlin-style rock 'n' roll debauchery and surrealist spoken weird soundtracks. They go down on Iggy’s Pop and stroke Serge’s Gainsbourg. And that's just foreplay.

(Un)dressed in voices, vices and violins; they tell stories of hitchhiking wolves, women made from hearts and other pre-dawn cravings. Drenched with drums, strums and bass runs; they tell tales of Crow Men, outlaw love and other splendours of the lower empire.

With an ever increasing cult following, the GBGV live experience delivers everything you (n)ever wanted - only for the bent of mind and brave of heart. Audiences are never safe, but always electric...
*** Ghostboy with Golden Virtues are in the studio w/ Darek Mudge this June, to record their new EP. First cab off the rank, the single 'Wolfish', already has received the filmclip treatment, created by Jacob Schiotz & Verdant Films. GBGV launch both at The Globe Theatre on July 18.
BUT WAIT! There's more...
GOLDEN VIRTUES
"Brisbane's premier folk and roll outfit" - Rave Magazine

DEBUT ALBUM OUT NOW THRU MGM.
"The flute, perhaps the most under utilised instrument in modern music, is at the forefront of the band's righteous sound. Sweet, subtle, quiet noises emanating from its slender stem informed the entire performance: almost a murmur at times, but building, building, always building to something clever and interesting and infectious" - Inpress Magazine (Golden Virtues live review)
"The flute riffs of Carburetor recall Ron Burgundy in a jazz club" - Tsunami Music Magazine (Golden Virtues album review)
ME = "I like the blues, but I like aqua marine just as much" - Don Van Vliet

WE ALL WANT TO!
"...An effortlessly great set of indie rock" TIME OFF Magazine July 2008
"...A characteristic display of masterful pop-rock exuberance" RAVE Magazine July 2008
"...this isn’t just 'Tim Steward (Screamfeeder)', but a whole other band that deserves a place in the collective psyche as a force of its own". FASTER LOUDER - November 2008
2008 was a year of touring & recording for We All Want To (aka: Tim Steward's solo material going large). 2009 will be a year of recording and release! To date we have worked with Wayne Connolly, Darek Mudge and Bryce Moorehead. We look forward to working with MAGOO in July(!!!) and Jamie Trevaskis at his Junkship Studios a little later in the year.
Our first EP is out now on Low Transit Industries. More soon and an album out this September!
Check out the filmclip for our first single, 'Back to the Car', created by Canuk wizards Pkam and Adam. The clip sees footage of the band projected across Brisbane scenery from the window of a moving vehicle - see if you can recognise the sights and watch for the tricky ending...
Geez Skye, it was nice to see you today. It's been a while...you are as lovely as ever. I also just viewed the vid from We All Want To for the first time just now...very cool and how GORGEOUS are ya! Great sounds as well. Please keep me posted on your gigs so I can see/hear you in live action too. Love Meece x I'm a massive fan. xxx

Yeah, totally blows... My old war wounds will be flaring up every Thursday night. It's still all pretty surreal at the mo, hasn't really sunk in yet. I'm too busy enjoying the fact that I'm not cleaning or packing.
May baby jebus give you an Xmas wedgie.
Am presently living and working in Adelaide with a beautiful man. Only arrived last week...it's so many things... least of all ohmygodholyshitwhoah. Sad to miss the cabaret extravaganza but will be jetsetting for our slam-a-rama on the 25th. The pleasure of sharing a stage once again, this time in probably more dimly-hued attire ;) Love you and your golden heart to pieces, till our day comes again...xxx
