Sky High is a three.piece rock/blues-band built around swedish guitarplayer/singer Clas Yngström and his music. The band started in Gothenburg late 1978 and became a full time operation in december 1980. Top swedish side man; bassist Ulf”Rockis”Ivarsson, and international powerhouse drummer James Bradley Jr are part of the line-up since march 2005.
Since it´s start the band has played well over 4.000 gigs around the globe – from Esmeraldas, Ecuador, in the west to Osaka, Japan, in the east…. From Vardö, Norway in the north to Maputo, Mozambique in the south…
Influences are rooted in the late sixties tradition of powertrios such as The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Cream + the early fusion experiments of Tony Williams Lifetime, Miles Davis, Weather Report etc.. elements of Funk and Punk can also be found Sky High´s musicscape, which is very open and free. Every gig is a new unwritten page for this trio.
Sky High and Clas Yngström have to this day released 16 albums, the first -”Sky High”- in december 1980 and the latest -”Soul Survivor”- in april 2004. A new album, with the current line-up, is set for release in the early spring of 2007.
