Some things you might or might not want to know about Skylar:
- Skylar started in about March 2004.
- Skylar is also the name of Lars Ulrich from Metallica's wife (this is totally unrelated but interesting none the less)
- Skylar started as an outlet for Matt to use material he was writing that wasn't suitable for the other band he plays in. After playing many solo gigs, he decided that his thing is playing with other people, not by himself, Skylar was born.
- Skylar recorded an album live in 11 hours after just 6 months of being a band and 7 gigs.

We are happy to announce that the latest addition to the Do The Dog kennel of bands is Nottingham based acoustic ska sensation Liam O'Kane!
Liam is vocalist & guitarist for another Do The Dog Music outfit Jimmy The Squirrel & for this side project he has teamed up with Jimmy The Squirrel drummer Bainbo to create a really raw & rootsy organic brand of acoustic ska, reggae & folk that utilises instruments like acoustic guitar, Bogdon box bass, box drum & melodica, as well as loads of soulful vocal harmonies!
Following Jimmy The Squirrel's UK tour in August, Liam & Bainbo will be recording the debut Liam O'Kane album, which looks set to feature 10 or 11 tunes & will be released later in the year on Do The Dog Music.
This week saw Jimmy The Squirrel pick up some more Radio 1 airplay for their killer “This One’s For You” tune on Mike Davies’ superb Radio 1 Punk Show (see playlist below).
