About me:
Words people have used to describe me:
charming, impulsive, random, goofy, cocky, manipulative, ginger, husky, jovial, cheerful, sympathetic, evil, horrible, Machiavellian, cuddly, attractive, cute, great smile, that boy with the crazy hair, Ohio from England, sly, emotionally unstable, the best friend I've ever had, OCD, fascinating, talented, creative, lazy, spoiled, rich, ambitious, poor, elder statesman, old guy, patriotic, unpatriotic, completely un-American, traitor, hero, "embodies what's right with America," English, British, pale, pasty, preppy, maverick, filthy liberal, staunch conservative, and just "Skylar."
Skylar's the name. Being posh is the game. Or so I'm told.
I. Skylar Baker-Jordan is the name, though I was only born with one of them. Can you guess it?
II. I have the most awesome mates and a great family. They're both really mental though.
III. England is home. Hands down.
IV. I've been blogging since 2001 and am actually kind of a big deal.
V. I'm currently beginning to work on my first novel.
VI. Writing is my passion.
VII. I have a list of about 80 criteria you must meet before I'll date you. I'm picky as hell.
IIX. I love inside jokes and will reference them out of context.
IX. Pete Doherty = a god. Amy Winehouse is his queen.
X. I listen to classical music and indie rock like it's my job.
XI. This is what a feminist looks like.
XII. I just moved into my first apartment after living in an old bungalow for two years.
XIII. Fierce is my favourite word.
XIV. I can't imagine not being involved in campus and community life. Politics is an obsession that runs in my family, much like alcoholism.
XV. I'm a Tory, and proud of it. David Cameron is my hero.
XVI. Love champagne.
XVII. If you compliment me I'll be putty in your hand for at least a day.
XVIII. Annoying Bolesy and making people very uncomfortable are two of my favourite hobbies.
XIX. London is pretty much the most amazing city in the world.
XX. Grace Adams-Short is a personal hero of mine.
XXI. I confess I can be a bit of a Sloane Ranger, though admittedly the indie rocker sort. If you have to ask, you'll never know.
XXII. Randomness is essential to a happy life.
In Memory of John Mark Adams
1991 – 2007
And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey
And the sun will set for you…
John Mark is a dear friend of mine who passed away on 28 December 2007. Losing him has been the most difficult things I’ve ever faced, and I think about him constantly. John Mark was a bright, loving, mischievous young man whom I am so incredibly blessed to have known. I learnt so much from him in the short time I knew him, and this is my small but solemn tribute to him.
I love you, John Mark. Go with peace.
