Skylight was started around 1999 by a hippe from Oregon named Eric. Eric sold Skylight when his wife graduated from Purdue, so they could move back to the West Coast. It then took the name "Kenzie's" for a while, but truly only Skylight stuck with it.
Skylight has superb sandwiches and satisfying soups, a covey of coffee drinks, and a slew of smoothies.
Skylight has a featured "Artist of the Month", so be sure to come by often. If it's been a while since you've been in, the murals are still on the walls, and the VW bus parts are still in the basement.

The Open Mic takes place every Thursday from 8-10 PM. Signups are at 7:30, and each performer gets a 15-minute slot. Skylight provides the PA, two mic's, a couple instrument cables, a piano, and plenty of support for newcomers.
