A LITTLE MORE ABOUT SKYLINE...
Skyline Studios is a 2000 square foot recording and production facility located next door to one of Dallas' finest and most famous live music venues, the now-defunct Gypsy Tea Room. Originally built in 1913, the historic building that houses the studio has been retrofitted for sound, comfort, and vibe. The offbeat floorplan features an unconventional design with very few parallel walls and includes a large main tracking room, medium-sized isolation room, a vocal booth, and (of course) a centrally located control room. Newly added for 2008 is the Gonzo Room--a warehouse space with 25 foot ceilings and tons of natural reverb. Each of the recording environments are outfitted with adjustable acoustic treatments for maximum sonic control and flexibility.
At this point, most studios would spend several paragraphs telling you about every piece of gear or every last widget they own that guarantees you getting the best tone/recording/product of your life in that facility. Instead, we'd like to focus on what's most important about Skyline--the people. Our engineer Tim Kimsey has worked with everyone from Pantera to Kirk Franklin and Underground Kingz to Steve Perry. His discography is too lengthy to list, but if you visit www.msn.com and search for his past works, you'll understand why he brings something special to every project he touches.
While you're here at Skyline, you'll be the ONLY client in the facility--we are a boutique facility that personally caters to one client at a time, so you can rest assured that the time you spend working on your project won't be disrupted by strangers intruding on your session or distracting from your performance. We also have private, secure garage parking so you can load your gear in and out discreetly, as well as the added comfort factor of not having to worry about the safety of your car or belongings.
The last (and in the opinion of many studio clients, most important) extra creature comfort we offer is a staffer dedicated entirely to keeping clients happy during their stay at Skyline. Matthew Wright, our Building Manager/Concierge can attend to any need you might have while working in our facility. Whether you need to have food delivered, locate a certain piece of gear, or simply need some info about the neighborhood and surrounding attractions, Matthew is your man. He keeps people smiling from the time they walk into the facility until the last piece of gear is loaded out.
Skyline Studios was designed with the artist in mind. Our staff is dedicated to meeting the individual needs of each client and making sure that their experience in the studio is a positive one. We believe that a casual dynamic and streamlined working environment put the artist at ease and foster musical creativity.
