Sitting around a table in Jax Beach in the summer of '79 a group of ragtag musicians decided to form a band. Based on the blues and a power edge,we had a good combination of older and younger members,thus forming our nucleus of having older blues guys with younger players to bring things up to date. We call it Skytrainizing a song. Oh yeah.where did that name come from? Actually.there's no dramatic story. We were looking at a magazine ad that said " Take a Slowboat to China,or a Skytrain to Europe. Nobody liked Slowboat,and we had a gig that weekend so..... been there ever since. Thats all I have to say about that. We've had many changes in the past 30 years.players come and go,but the spirit remains the same.We love our music, everyone that has ever been with the 'train still come around once in a while just to jam. We've been lucky enough to share stages with Pat Travers,38 Special,Molly Hatchet,The Marshall Tucker Band,Bad Co.,Steppenwolf & others who just pop in on us. We are very grateful for the people we have met & touched with our music.Our Fans are diehards and cant be beat. Nowadays the tables have turned,and who used to be the young guys are now the older. Scott Corley, founding and last original member, is joined by his son Jessie Corley on Bass guitar,Lead vocals, Rhythm guitar & occasional Drums. Growing up with Skytrain,He Knows the tracks. This brings us to Our little Elvis.John Clifton, on Lead guitar and vocals. His Flash finger playing,and Scott's Old style roots keep the formula working{ John used to come around the studio when he was a kid and hang out and listen, never thinking that one day....} Last but certainly not least is Jack Lee, our drummer/percussionist, a Veteran Of Jacksonville bands He keeps us all solid. Our music is as varied as our crowd, We see who we're playing to, and adjust accordingly. We do have our own Music and play some every chance we get.but our covers can go from Hee Haww & Johnny Cash to Pearljam & Areosmith. Of course,being from Jax., We got the southern rock too. Well, there's a loong history behind the Skytrain, so if your Mom & Dad say"I remember them!!" they probably have a story or two. Come to a show and see what its all about. MUSIC-LOVE-LIFE-! P.S.
