SKYY HIGH was born and raised in Tangelo Park, Orlando, Florida, the daughter of a mixed family, her mom being white and her dad being black. It was a predominately black neighborhood with an aggressive reputation. SKYY HIGH had to be strong and learn at an early age how to survive in this tough neighborhood. At school she was picked on quite often, and many times she was the brunt of many racial jokes because of her light skin color. She was able to pass the street test in the hood and gain the knowledge to fit in with the crowd. Thats were she obtained the valuable fundamental skills to the rap game. SKYY HIGH started emceeing in the 3rd grade and at the time, no one was looking for an eight-year-old rapper, and not a young rapper with her skin color. In elementary school she participated in the ~~chorus~~, and thats when she discovered the joy of performing on stage. Throughout her teenage years she worked hard developing her raw style for music. In junior high school she was picked on alot, but never did she back down from anyone. SKYY HIGH has experience the tough street life growing up in Tangelo Park, you can just hear it in her affluent lyrics and in her indisputably delivery. After graduating from high school, SKYY HIGH did numerous interviews with local radio station, magazine and newspaper. She was most recently featured as a guest artist, (speaker and rapper) on the local Orange TV station program in Orlando, Florida. When asked where she gets her inspiration to write some of her profound lyrics she answers, Im not ashamed of picking up a pen & paper and writing down my deepest feelings, It took me thirteen years to really dig deep into my soul and bring sincere poetic justice to my music. She opened up for the recording artists Khia and also performed as open act for Young Buck & Lloyd Banks of G. Unit, T. Pain, Jacki-O, Lil Wayne, & Young Jeezy. SKYY HIGH is moving above the clouds with her second debut album Touch the Skyy. Early responds is this album is destiny for the top, she will take you above and beyond. FROM TUPAC TO BIGGIE, BONE THUGS IN HARMONY TO TWISTA N DO OR DIE. FROM AZ TO NAZ N JAY-Z, 8-BALL N MJG TO PUBLIC ENEMY AND NWA, SCARFACE N THE GHETTO BOYS ON UP INTO THE NEWEST GENERATION LIKE T.I. N LIL WAYNE, FIELD MOB TO G-UNIT, THE LIST COULD GO ON N ON! I WAS EVEN INFLUENCED BY POETS LIKE MYA ANGELO AND R N B ARTISTS SUCH AS MARY J AND MARIAH, SWV TO AALYAH. ALTHOUGH I DON'T SING I WAS CAPTURED BY THE MESSAGES AND THE SPIRIT, THE FEELINGS BEHIND EACH SONG ENABELING ME TO GRASP THE TRUE CONCEPT BEHIND BEING AN ARTIST, A TRUE ARTIST FROM THE SOUL. GIVING ME THE ABILITY TO PUT ALL EMOTION, SPIRIT AND SOUL INTO A SONG, AND MAKE YOU FEEL WHAT I WAS OR AM FEELING WHEN I WRITE AND DELIVER MY MUSIC. THERE IS MORE TO RAPPING THAN JUST SAYING THE WORDS AND I'VE LEARNED THAT FROM OTHERS WHO HAVE COME BEFORE ME. THEY ARE EVERYDAY SITUATIONS AND CHALLENGES. IT'S TESTIMONIES OF LOVE, HATE, PAIN, GUILT, SORROWS, JOYS, FULLFILLMENT AND LET DOWNS, VICTORIES AND LOSSES ALL OF THESE THINGS COMBINED. MUSIC CREATES LIGHT FOR THOSE LOST IN THE DARK ROADS OF LIFE AND OUTLETS TO THOSE WHO SUFFER AND WHO ARE PERSECUTED BY OTHERS TO PREVENT THEM FROM ACTING OUT IN OTHER WAYS. ITS UPLIFTING TO THOSE WHO NEED TO KNOW THAT THERE IS SOMEONE ELSE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE GOING THROUGH. ITS ALSO THE DRIVE AND MOTIVATION FOR SOME TO GET OUT AND DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO SURVIVE OR WHAT'S RIGHT. IT ALSO HELPS PEOPLE MAKE CHOICES IN DEFINING MOMENTS IN THIER LIFE BY HEARING THE OUTCOME OF SOMEONE ELSE OVER A SONG, HAVING TO HAVE MADE THE SAME DECISION. I CAN GO ON TELLING YOU WHAT INFLENCES ME AS FAR AS THE MUSIC IS CONCERNED. THERE WERE DAYS I'D LOCK MYSELF IN MY ROOM AND PLAY SONGS TO CHANGE MY EMOTION AND ATTITUDE, IT WAS NEEDED THROUGHOUT MY LIFE FOR MANY DIFFERENT REASONS. AS I'M SURE IT IS THE SAME FOR MANY OTHERS. I LOVE MY GIFT! IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO ONE PERSON AND THING, HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE BLESSING RIEGNED DOWN ON US AS ARTISTS BY GOD THERE WOULD BE NO SUCH THING AS MUSIC. SO I THANK GOD FOR IT ALL, ALL OF THE WRITERS AND ALL OF THE SOULJAHS THAT ARE DEAD AND GONE BUT ARE STILL LIVING THROUGH THIER MUSIC, TO THE ONES STILL HERE. THAT'S PRETTY MUCH ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT.
