Slade Ham's Comedian Bio
|
| Bio | Slade Ham is not standard fare in the comedy world. Over the last decade, he’s generated a cult following of not only his stand up, but of the volumes of online Rants he churns out weekly. From social issues to the perils of his previous eight year, train wreck relationship, Slade’s show takes you places you thought only you had been… and when it’s over, you realize there’s hope at the end of it all. It’s not motivational or inspirational; it’s just true.
A veteran of multiple USO tours for our troops overseas, Slade has taken his trademark brand of intensity to four different continents, leaving audiences howling every time. Off stage, Slade lends his talents to the production of independent films, most recently starring in and co-directing the award winning "Fist Full of Pills" along with fellow Texas comedian Tom Hester. The film was showcased at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival and was the recipient of an Honorable Mention, coming in second only to a Kevin Pollack film. The follow up, “Kill Whitey”, featuring the same creative team, was released in May 2007.
Adding to the list in the past year, Slade was invited by Christopher Titus to open at the taping of his “5th Annual End of the World Tour” for Comedy Central at the South Beach Comedy Festival.
In 2006 Slade had the honor of headlining XM Radio’s “Best of Texas” two hour special, and his 2nd CD “Redemption” remains one of XM Comedy’s most requested. “Redemption” also features original music from Kevin Martin of Candlebox fame, and receives almost daily airplay on XM Channel 150. His third project, “Anywhere But Here”, is set for an early 2008 release.
Original, fast paced, and always putting the audience first… Slade Ham is on the verge of something huge. The crowd simply never leaves disappointed. More importantly though, they leave as fans.

About me:
First off, go to www.sladeham.com. That's a rule. I wrote it.
With that said, welcome to my page. You either came on purpose or on accident, or you are doing some psychodelic drug that prevents you from realizing you are even here in the first place... in which case all this black and brown is probably saying something profound to you right now. Write it down, it may be important.
Anything you want to know probably has already found it's way into my blog. I'm a typical Type A personality. I virtually live off caffeine and adrenaline. I probably won't like you. I find myself giving advice much more easily than I take it. Things always work out for me. Always. I surround myself with people that are more successful than I am. I am a college drop out and quite proud of it. I am incapable of being unhappy as long as I have my motorcycle and my iPod. I have fallen down enough to not be afraid of it anymore. People gravitate to me and I don't always understand why. The truth remains the funniest thing I could ever talk about. I have two cats, but they don't live with me, and I really don't give a shit what anyone thinks about that. While I don't hate it, I also don't get many urges to eat ice cream. I am not easily intimidated. I also spend a lot of time at a particular coffee shop clearing my head so I can fill it back up. Battlestar Galactica was quite possibly the best show on television. I have never broken a bone, but I have had a ridiculous amount of stitches. I believe it's important to help wherever you can, though only when it isn't enabling the person you're helping. I am not sure how many countries I have been to. Accountability and taking responsibility are incredibly important to me. I own one pair of tennis shoes, and I don't know where they are. There are certain people I would not save from drowning. Some of them are children. I'm only being honest. Rock music is my vice, world music is my mistress. I am superficial when it comes to women, though I cannot be around anyone for any extended period of time if they are not completely brilliant. I remain in awe that anyone might have read this this far. Chocolate Pop Tarts rock. So does fried food.
