About me:
The 16th Annual Slamdance Film Festival will be held January 21-28, 2010, and entries will open June 1, 2009. Early deadline for submissions is August 21, 2009, regular deadline is September 30, 2009, and final deadline for all films is October 30, 2009. Films can be submitted through the www.slamdance.com site or, new this year, through WithoutABox.
The Competition Section is strictly devoted to feature films without domestic theatrical distribution, from first-time feature directors, working with relatively low budgets. Slamdance has remained true to its founding mandate that it is a Festival “by filmmakers, for filmmakers,” whereby the programming team is comprised of filmmakers, many of whom are Slamdance alumni.
Slamdance also hosts Writing Competitions each year - the 2009 Slamdance Feature Screenplay Competition is currently open for entries on www.slamdance.com and WithoutABox; final deadline is June 15, 2009. The 2009 Slamdance Horror Competition will open in July 2009.
