Interests

  • General

Guttural vocals, slam breakdowns, groove, pinch harmonics, insane bass drops, blasting drumming...all components of brutal death, as well as all of the progressive, epic and semi-melodic influences some bands utilize in addition to these core concepts. Overall, we are interested in spreading the slamming sickness wherever it has not yet reached. ..

"This record is simply a masterpiece of top notch brutal technical death metal and as the title says, there will not be place for anyone else after you spin it once. Death metal in the vein of Suffocation, Inveracity, Deeds of Flesh but with a different, personal trademark.
Mastered by Colin Davis - Imperial Mastering.
    Artwork by Marco Hasmann."

new songs LOBOTOMIA and REDNECK SLANDEROUS MUTATION taken from the album uploaded now!

About me:

Welcome all brutal heads and those seeking enlightenment regarding slamming sickness...

Slam-Minded is a blog formed by Nick Adams and Andy Phelps to talk about our passion: Brutal Death Metal. The Blog is located here or http://slam-minded.blogspot.com/ if that direct link fails to work (fuck Myspace).

We hope to befriend and network with any and all brutal/slam death bands in order to review their albums and help connect non-fans (and other fans who don't keep up as well) with the ever-expanding brutal death metal scene. We acknowledge excellent developing (and sometimes already developed, yet ever-increasing) scenes in the US, Colombia, Japan, the Philippines, Italy, China, the Czech Republic, Greece, Canada, and probably a ton of other countries we're forgetting!

We support labels like Comatose, Unmatched Brutality, Sevared, Goregiastic, Amputated Vein, Lacerated Enemy, Macabre Mementos, Comatose, Unique Leader, Deathmetal.us, Displeased, United Guttural, Dan's Crypt, Brutal Bands, Grindethic, Neurotic, Pathologically Explicit, Bizarre Leprous, and all the rest. The underground scene will stay alive forever, we feel, and it is at possibly its healthiest point right now. We are proud to support it at its prime.

We often look specifically at the "deeper" aspects of slamming brutal bands, including how they structure breakdowns, their sense of melody and progression (if applicable, though we realize it often is not), and the way the mix complements the general sound of the album/band. However, we're also not against bands who mindlessly (and that much more brutally) bludgeon listeners' ears with their straightforward stomp'n'slam groove.

Our job is to spread information like a disease. Join us in making the world a more brutal place.

You can contact us via Myspace or via our separate e-mail addresses listed on the blog. Thanks for visiting!

Who I'd like to meet:

ALL brutal death metal bands from ALL international underground scenes!!

Please get in touch if you want coverage in the blog in the form of a review or simply a discussion; we will do both for no charge whatsoever!
