About me: SlamRichmond is the home of Richmond, Virginia's first, longest-running and best ranked PSi-certified poetry slam representing Virginia. We have been featured in Style Weekly and Urban Weekly, and the 2008 slam team reached semifinal status at the National Poetry Slam in Madison, Wisconsin.
SlamRichmond embraces all artists, and our mission is to elevate minds and encourage better writing by pushing the envelope so that risks are taken on the page -- and on the mic.
The SlamRichmond curating family believes in creating a greater awareness of the literary world.
SlamRichmond is open every single Saturday. Writing workshops begin promptly at 5 p.m. and many are conducted by nationally and internationally known poets and writers, some of whom have been Marty McConnell, The Klute and Carlos Andres Gomez.
Sign up for open mic and poetry slam begins at 7:30 p.m. with show starting promptly at 8 p.m.
