About me:
I've lived in Louisville for a year and a half. The friends I've made have really been the friends of others, so my close friends here are very few in number. I found out last summer that I have metastic melanoma which sucks. About once a month I'm admitted to the hospital for one procedure or another. I live alone in a house on a hill with two female cats prone to sleeping and sneaking. Folks describe me as quiet, but I'm really that way around new people and when I have nothing to say. I prefer one on one conversation to large social situations. Sometimes I behave like a curmudgeonly old man. I hardly drink at all anymore. Damn these comments make me sound so bad.

Brian had already told me Friday night that he didn’t want to go but that if I couldn’t find anyone else to go with me, he would go. I started scheming this grand plan to take a few days off work so that I could drive up to Louisville and pick you up so you could go with me. I know you would have loved to go. I turned off the alarm, made my sleepy way out into the kitchen, and Brian told me. We spent the next little while talking about you. Brian told me the story of when you were climbing the ladder to join them on top of the roof at 605. You had gotten to the top of the ladder when it tipped backwards, landing on top of you on the ground. The funny thing was that you never dropped or spilled your beer. I told him how I would miss your girly laugh. I love you so much, Scooba. I will miss you terribly. With all my love, d.

The man personally responsible for getting me so drunk that we ran down the street together after some floozie and I fell and my kneecaps haven't been the same since - except for all the other times since then that I've fallen while drunk. He is only responsible for that one time. Well, there may be a couple of other times.
