Slant is a band of young folks from Cincinnati, Ohio (but half of them live in Nashville). Slant is fronted by a guitar slingin', boot wearin' girl named Michelle Korn. Slant is also composed of two Seans and a Ben. Some members of Slant wear glasses, and some sport mustaches. All members are loads of fun, and wear plaid shirts regularly. Slant was once a girl band, but now they are obviously not. Some of Slant's songs are mean, but they don't really care. Slant has a new album coming out on June 20th, 2008, called "Nothin' Left But Me".
SOME NICE THINGS MAGAZINES HAVE RECENTLY SAID ABOUT US:
"Nothin’ Left But Me" is an ambitious sounding debut album. Mixing the guitar rock of The Replacements with the pop sensibility of 90’s alternative bands like Weezer and all topped of with the naturally soothing drawl of Korn’s vocals," -The Wheel's Still In Spin
"This strong debut is in the same league as Rilo Kiley and Cat Power, but minus some of those acts' more overwrought traits...Slant are strong contenders for next 'local band gone national' status."-CityBeat
"No one can ever take Sleater Kinney's place, but every once in a while, there's a band who easily reminds us of their early career. Case in point: Slant. This young threesome from Ohio stays true to the early indie-rock sound creating a folk grit riff with up tempo songs to sing along and clap to...Slant is full of young potential and promise," -URB Magazine
"Melodic power popping indie rock with a hint of punk and a dash of alt-country that will get you dancing around like an idiot," -CiN Weekly Magazine
"Known for creative stage antics, lead singer/guitarist Michelle Korn's outgoing vibe leaks into the atmosphere of her songwriting as well. Mixing unapologetic lyrics with a playful approach, she sounds brazenly amusing." -CityBeat
"Delivering classic punk-influenced, clap along melodies that could easily be the makings of a well established Post-Punk band...these 'kids with glasses' sound like anything but kids," -The Community Press
"Slant's lead singer sounds like what would happen if Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis and Wilco's Jeff Tweedy had baby...and the scary part is, she kind of looks like what would happen, too"-A Random Blogger on Xanga (Okay, we just thought this was funny...)
yeah, haha... i think i almost forgot about the dragonball z tape... wow, that had to have been over two years ago... but yeah... now i'm in vegas, just writing my music and waiting till i come back to cincy to get something new going.
were going to try and finish the record in the next few weeks. then mastering, then artwork, yadi yadi yada. thanks again for coming out, hopefully we can do something again soon.
Ponyhead... So I listened to your songs, and I think they are pretty nice. I miss you like whoa. My phone has been shut off, but I still have your number. When I get some new phonage, I will totally give you a call. We can find each other and chill, and you can cut my hair and sing to me. It'll be wonderful. I love you.
