The Slappy Tubbs Band was born in Chicken Skin, Arkansas. It all started when Thumper Tubbs was having some health problems and got his prescription of playing the drums, among other things. Soon there after Thumper had a baby, and the boys began playing tunes together. When they first played in front of a crowd, someone shouted, "You guys suck!" and the band was officially formed. What started as an electric band called "Little Brown Friend" changed rather quickly when it was realized that the intricacies of sucking were more apparent when acoustic. The band, now known as "The Slappy Tubbs Outfit" headed west and decided to relocate on Orcas Island, Washington. Actually, they were kicked out of Arkansas. The government tried to kick them out of the country into Canada, but the Canadians would have nothing to do with them. Orcas Island was the only place that would accept them and it is here where they make their homes.
