About me: SlaskiFest is an all-day super-picnic, or as some like to say,"the white album of summer picnics". It was originally organized as a sort of a reunion for friends who didn't want to lose touch with one another over the years as their lives became increasingly hectic. Since then that small group of friends has grown to over 1000. For the majority of that group the day is anticipated in the same way children look forward to christmas mornings.
Some last minute SFX tips: - Bring ID if you plan on drinking(no exceptions!) - Consider bringing a designated driver to the fest - Don't forget sunscreen, change of clothes, towel, bathing suit, etc. - Most of the food is shared and supplied by everyone, so a potluck is
appreciated. - Bands start as early as 1pm, and there is much fun to be had all day. - Early birds get a free SFX 10th anniversary t-shirt (100 available - they will go fast and they are nice!) - Make our party your party; bring all your friends and family.(No knuckleheads!) - Bring your good vibes and hankerin' to get your picnic on! - Carpooling is awesome. If you are coming from Philly and think you have space, get in touch with us. If you think you need a ride from somewhere, let us know and we'll see if we can help.
Advanced ticketholders: Advanced ticket sales are closed, if you purchased a ticket via Paypal, your name will be on a pre-purchase guest list at the entrance bridge along with how many tickets you purchased. Just tell the troll watching the bridge the name used on the PayPal purchase. While it is not necessary, it is helpful if you print and bring the Paypal confirmation email you were sent right after you bought the passes.
Getting there: This year SlaskiFest X will be held from 10am to 10pm at Indian Trail Park in Northampton, PA on 07/07/07. Here is a map for your convenience.
Cost: Tickets will be $15 at the bridge. All the profits will be donated to Children's Arthritis. Cost includes loads of fun stuff, live music, and all the food you can eat and all the drink you can drink. (You must be 21 or over and provide valid ID if you intend to drink alcohol.)
Bands(alphabetically): The Deadliners will be returning this year to usher in the party with a set of blues and rock classics peppered with their own garage rock numbers.
From Philadelphia, ex Miss Argentina members join us as Kid Kreyol with a new brand of punchy post-punk with keyboards.
Philly(by way of Conshohocken) band MegaMega will be performing as well. These guys used to be Lee, Jae-won but this is their new band and yes, they are still excellent. They call it "a mighty ninja voltron of sludge riff rock" which is better than any description any of us could've come up with.
Mountain High is another favorite of ours from Philadelphia. You could probably get away with just saying "punk rock" but it wouldn't do them justice since these days you don't find drunken revelry like these guys are capable of inciting. This band features members of the Philadelphia bands everyone should have heard of.
From the Western side of Philly, the guys responsible for Danger!Danger! will be bringing spastic rock with a bunch of cool noisey stuff that often lends itself to some pretty trance inducing grooves. They're called Red Rocket and we're happy to have them.
Simultaneously driving and ambient, Philadelphia's Relay will hit you with a wall of sound that will shimmer you a new beautiful.
In keeping with our tradition of reuniting local favorites of the past, Weston will be performing this year. We are excited to have them. Listen to your old records and get psyched.
We appreciate anyone who is enthusiastic about wanting to play the fest but we can't accommodate any more bands. 7 is all we'll have time for this year and it's appropriate when you consider the date.

Oh, SlaskiFest!! What good times we had. I am glad to hear that you are doing well (over 750 picnicers...that rocks!) and miss you dearly. Please do grace us with your presence once again next year. Should I be planning for 7/5/08 or 7/12/08? :)
Roughly 750 people and we raised $2000 for Children's Arthritis!!!! Awesome time, thank you to everyone who came and help make another successful year.
