Slave Cadaver was concieved in a concrete garage/pit of dispair in Wellington, New Zealand in early 2003 when Jared (drums) and Eli (vocals) started jamming some Carcass with Viv (guitar). Guy joined on bass shortly after and the band started rehearsing and gigging as a Carcass covers act.
In March 2004 Dave Cadaver jumped on second guitar and Guy left to join Damned Age. The band started working on originals and continued gigging throughout the year playing "An Audience with the Devil" metal fest in Auckland in May enlisting Jason from Backyard Burial to fill in on bass.
Guy returned later in the year and the band recorded a 4 track demo EP "Seething Innards". Viv left in early 2005 and after a few months of inactivity continued as a 4-piece.
In January 2006 Sam from Aethea was recruited on second guitar and the band played relentlessly in Wellington and around the country including shows with Internationals Blood Duster, Psycroptic, Ruins & The Berzerker and local heavyweights Dawn Of Azazel, Ulcerate, Sinate, Aphelon, Wrath and dozens more. Sam left in March 2008 and the band carried on as a 4-piece until Count Daveula reliquished duties in August. Josh from Deny/ex-Sankhara and Zeke from Evil Alchemy were enlisted on guitars shortly before supporting legendary kings of grind Carcass. In August 09 after the Brutalitees Birthday Bash II in New Plymouth Josh left the band to focus on other musical projects.
Slave Cadaver's music is a death metal/grindcore hybrid with heavy grooves and bizarre rhythms. The first album 'Slave Girls from Beyond Infinity' is available now through myspace, trademe.co.nz or at any upcoming gigs. 2009 will see the band work on new material and recordings.

Sup J, hope your good bro. Just been up to Coro for the funeral of my friend Ben Penny (wookie) who was the original SASQUATCH (now Retribution) bass player. Fuckin heavy bro. He was like Alex Webster when I was in high school (late 80's early 90's) playing early corpse and Amon and the earliest NZ band that played that Tampa Bay area death metal styled originals with a kiwi twist from here I'd ever seen. A massive inspiration to me to do what I do now. Sad man. Respect. I'd smashed my face into the ground so many times on the waste as a kid man, it was orsum. A massive wooly dude, brutal bass styles, mean surfer and a good mate with a big heart. Anyways Keen for the 5th bro if its all go anyways man, that be sic. You coming up over the school holidays at all? Be good to catch up. Cheers j Dan
