The SLEAFORD UKULELE ORCHESTRA was formed in late 2007 by Chris Watson for a bit of fun. Based in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, the orchestra currently has fifteen musicians playing a variety of instruments from the ukulele family. We played a number of successful shows around the Sleaford/Lincoln area during 2009 (see our 'REVIEWS AND COMMENTS OF OUR SHOWS' blog) and hope to continue this trend during 2010.
We may be an orchestra but do not expect an evening of instrumentals. We play an eclectic selection of music from Johnny Cash to Labi Siffre, The Beatles to Beethoven, and Elvis to Enya. We even throw in the odd jazz number!
