Sleekstain se forme tout d’abord en 2003 par les deux frères Jey (guitare) et Vanns (batterie). Ils intègrent ensuite le bassiste Ton’, puis un an plus tard Rob comme autre guitariste, ils décident ainsi de composer directement leurs chansons malgré l’absence d’un chanteur qu’ils n’arrivent pas à trouver. Après maintes recherches, c’est en 2006 que Sleekstain trouve son chanteur Marcus et se retrouve dans sa formation actuelle. Ils enregistrent alors une démo 4 titres quelques mois plus tard et font une dizaine de concerts dans leur région.
En avril 2007, le tremplin du festival « Guitare en Scène » se déroulant au Repaire des Ours permet au groupe d’être sélectionné dans les 8 meilleures formations parmi 250 prétendants.
Sleekstain a donc pu se produire à ce 1er festival international dédié à la guitare, et ce au mois de septembre 2007 aux portes de Genève au milieu de pointures tel que, Michael Jones, Patrick Rondat, Gotthard, Jean-Félix Lalanne, Kiko Loureiro, UDO, Christophe Godin, Ana Popovic, Rod Barthet, Patrick Verbeke, Jean-Claude Rapin, Paul Créa et The Dean’s, jeune groupe talentueux produit par David Gilmour.
Désormais, le groupe enregistrera prochainement une nouvelle démo avec des titres plus récents....
