The Quebec City based quartet‘s story started three years ago when Alex (lead guitar) and Simon (drums) were looking for good musicians to start a new ambitious project. They’ve had several disappointing experiences with quantity of musicians. Until Simon met Nick (vocal/guitar) who realized he had a lot in common with the two other members of the band. All three of them believed it was the right match-up and that forming Sleeping Giants could get them somewhere. However, one place remained empty in the line-up. Frederico (bass guitar), Nick’s younger brother who’s also a good guitar player, accepted to join the band as the bass guitar player. Not more than two weeks later the four guys were recording a demo that really proved how creative and motivated they were. After a year of learning while playing live shows, they were back in studio. They recorded another two song demo for their supporters to enjoy some new material. During the second year and a half they’ve shared the stage with bands like: The Ataris, Vulgaires Machins, Bonjour Brumaire, Crane, The Furlongs and many others. In May 2009 they recorded their first EP “I’ll just sail away” with Luc Tellier. This soon to come out EP will show the great evolution of their sound which is louder and somehow more mature. They’re now ready to hit the stage as often as they can and really excited to meet each and every one of you.
