Also, we're in the process of booking some live dates for the spring/summer. First up May 8 in NYC! What follows is a brief history of what's been happening lately...
Since The Brighter Shore was released in 1999, Rachael and I have been busy. We got married, had a kid, moved from NYC to Boston (we're both originally from Massachusetts), had another kid, played a bunch of shows with the wonderful Dan Cuddy (The Special Pillow, ex-Hypnolovewheel) when our pal, founding Sleepyhead member and film industry superstar Mike Galinsky needed more time for his other projects, and started writing and recording the fifth Sleepyhead album (with Dan on bass) - not necessarily in that order. We've been in the studio with Mike Deming (Pernice Brothers, Beachwood Sparks, Lilys, Apples in Stereo, etc.) for a LONG time and are almost finished with this album, tentatively titled Red Letter Daze. We're mixing now and hope to have it out sometime in 2009. Oh yeah, we found another fantastic bass player, Derek Van Beever, which makes us 3 for 3 in the bass player department. There I was..... at midnight, sitting in the upstairs room at the Middle East listening to some band, waiting for Sleepyhead to perform. Meanwhile, you guys were in the other upstairs room next door playing an inspired set (so I heard later) . I hope you play again sometime soon. Now I know where to find you.
I actually dug out the first single I owned by you guys yesterday - "Play" it still blows me away. Then I get on here and here the new track which is complete bad assery!!! We still need to do a show or ten Thleeyhead..
