“Slender Means have an indie-pop grand slam on their hands with the debut album Neon & Ruin….. Every track is aimed at getting the kids beaming in their headphones all afternoon.” The Stranger
“..watertight pop songs that would make both Morrissey and Paul Westerberg envious.” The Seattle Weekly

“Seattle's Slender Means titled their 2005 album Neon & Ruin, and the term works quite well as a description of the band's sound. This is a group that can evoke glossy urban landscapes alongside portraits of desperation and depression. ….Slender Means fuses [Dawson's] archetypally clear vocals and soaring hooks with some rougher aspects, and the result is both resonant and catchy as all hell.” Portland Mercury
“Slender Means’ album “Neon & Ruin,” .. is a powerful and sophisticated debut, as passionate as it is rocking.” MSNBC
