Influenced by a healthy diet of electronica and industrial, Colin C. has spawned quite a few projects over the years, yet none as personal as his Slighter guise. The Slighter sound takes many various shapes, from glitched out breakbeat floor fillers (Cyber Recordings, Heavy Rotation, Morphosis Records) , to darker industrial soundscapes (as featured on the score for the independent film “STEEL”).
Colin C. began developing “Slighter” back in 2004 to rekindle his love for the music that didn’t fit into a disposable “dance” category. Having previously recorded and penned more industrial and rock oriented work early in life, he felt it was time to embrace his roots and draw from his experiences and blend the old with the new. His first EP, “Thicker Skinned” was released on his own DGM Records in 2005 and distributed digitally with (now defunct) EDM Digital and ResonantVibes.com. “Skeeze + Sleaze”, An original EP was released in 2008 on Polytechnic Recordings with a second part to follow in Summer 2009.
Colin has also spent the last year working with local Los Angeles based rock band, Spider Problem, producing and engineering a remix album for the bands debut release “Arocknophobia” as well as releasing a full length artist album on May 5th 2009.
